UNIQUE COMBINATIONS OF SOIL AND CLIMATE FOR UNIQUE WINE CREATIONS
The two vineyards of GAIA WINES, in Santorini and Koutsi in Nemea, are typical examples of a harmonious "cooperation" of soil and climate that will please even the most demanding wine lovers. In both regions, the chosen location, soil characteristics, climatic conditions, humidity and temperature levels are treated with respect and the attention required for varieties such as Assyrtiko and Agiorgitiko to perform at their best.
NEMEA, BLESSED LAND
Semi-mountainous, stony soils at an altitude of up to 850 meters, with relatively cold and wet winters and cool summers, are the special homeland of the Agiorgitikos variety that offers us red wines with great aging potential.
SANTORINI, TIMELESS VALUE
Volcanic soil, very high summer temperatures, strong sea winds, make up the environment where for 3,000 years the authoritarian vineyards have brought to fruition the local variety of Assyrtikos, mainly responsible for rare white wines.
